Today's Tiny Shift

Keep your mind engaged on a speaker by mentally asking questions as they talk. Relevant questions.

E.g. They start talking about their childhood. Silently engage with questions like:

'where exactly in Scotland did you grow up?'

'why did you move there?'

This little hack keeps you in the present, builds empathy and improves memory.

Why It Works

Keeps the brain engaged - otherwise it’ll drift last nights dinner (or a good shag, let’s be honest). So creating ‘open loops’ with unanswered questions makes your brain eager to listen and get to the bottom of this mystery.

Asking questions lights up curiosity circuits to keep your attention engaged. Try it. Thank me later.
